Medical Missions
There
is no medical care in many of the remote villages in the state of Oaxaca.
Occasionally, children will die of diarrhea and other related sicknesses which
can be easily treated and cured with basic medical knowledge and pharmacy
resources. As in the parable of the mustard seed, a little bit of help goes
a long way!
The medical team at Roca Blanca, along
with the help of short-term medical teams from the United States, have ministered
to over 70,000 patients since 1991. Many have come to know the saving
grace of Jesus Christ through this ministry, and churches have
been planted as a direct result of these medical missions, accompanied with the
preaching of the gospel.

In 1994, the beautiful Corban Clinic medical facility was constructed at Roca Blanca. This facility is
open to the public for consultation on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but patients in need are never turned away.
Laura Pratt, Dr. Angelica Swanson, and the nursing staff help to meet the needs of each individual that
comes to the clinic. The facility is also used for minor surgery and dental clinics with visiting doctors.
In addition to quality medical care, every patient who visits the clinic and
pharmacy receives spiritual counseling and prayer. It's exciting to see
people experiencing the love of God both through practical, physical care
and through the encouragement, comfort and challenge of His Word.
Are you in the medical profession? Read the sections below to help this ministry
and co-labor with us in medical missions.
Short-Term Medical Teams

Would you like to be involved in bringing healing and the gospel to people who are waiting for
it? Short-term medical teams that partner with Roca Blanca have a profound impact on the people of Oaxaca.
Whether you are a nurse, surgeon, physical therapist, family doctor, dentist, or have any other medical training,
your talents and gifts can richly bless this region. By partnering with our ministry you will have the opportunity
to offer medical care to those in need.
Many churches and individuals have come up with creative ways to partner with Roca
Blanca in reaching the needy in Mexico and expanding the Kingdom
of God. Regardless of your profession, any individual who is willing to help can
make a big difference in the lives of people lacking basic medical care.
Pray and consider partnering with us in medical missions.
Internship in Medical Missions

Undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in a medical profession are now welcome to spend a
few weeks or an entire semester at Roca Blanca. Come and shadow a doctor and experience hands-on medical
treatment in this third-world region of Mexico. Your experience at our mission base will give insight to
the necessity of doctors throughout the world. Students will have the opportunity to work at the Corban
Clinic, as well as travel to nearby villages to set up temporary clinics. Nicole Dum (pictured), Physicians
Assistant student at UT Southwestern, came to Roca in October 2006 and had the following to say about her experience:
"Serving at Roca Blanca for two weeks served as a dual purpose for me; I was not only fulfilling a clinical
elective for physicians assistant school, but I was also given an opportunity to see people serve God through
career missions. Observing the staff and students who live here allowed me to grow and understand more fully
what it means to love the Lord passionately, whole-heartedly, and unashamedly. I will forever be indebted to
the people at Roca for their friendships, prayers, and positive influence on my life. Being able to serve the
patients at the Corban Clinic offered me an opportunity to show my gratitude and also share Christ's love." -
