Do you know that God has called you to missions? As Christians, each of us have the responsibility to in some
way fulfill Jesus' last commandment in the Great Commission. Whether this be through going personally, sending
resources, or receiving missionaries, as long as we are striving to advance God's Kingdom, we are doing our part.
Furthermore, each Christian has been blessed with spiritual gifts that are to be used to build up the church.
1 Corinthians 12 tells us of many spiritual gifts and how important it is to use the gifts that has been given to us
through the Holy Spirit. By using our gifts in a foreign mission field, we bring diversity that strengthens
ministries and ultimately allows for unity in the church (one body, many parts).
The Roca Blanca Mission Base, though located in a third-world setting, provides a safe environment for mission
interns. We welcome anyone that has a heart for God and a passion to minister to the unreached. Through this
internship opportunity, you are able to live and minister in Oaxaca, which has the highest concentration of
"unreached" people groups in the Western hemisphere.
"One of the questions that I wrestled with after college was,
"God, what do you want me to do with my life now?" After years of school and preparation I was finally ready to
start the rest of my life serving God, but how and where? The pace of my life was so frenzied that my life whirled
past me in a blur. So when I obeyed God and came to Roca Blanca, God made my once blurry future come into focus
with crystal clarity. I found my purpose and direction though the invaluable lessons of waiting on God and his
plans and timing. In this place, I experienced the joy of spirtual growth and saw myself transform from a
dutiful, good christian into a passionate, devoted follower of God. I am serving the base as an English teacher
and short-term mission coordinator."
"When I first knew that God was leading me to Oaxaca, I was not
sure why He wanted me to go. But I went. I arrived at Roca Blanca and told the staff, "Here I am. What do you want
me to do?" After about a month, I began to find my niche in helping with marketing and fundraising. I understood
scripture and knew that my gifts could be used in God's service, but this was the first time in my life I got to apply it in
such a real way. I spent much of my time working in an office and using computers, something that I wasn't even
sure I would have access to! Serving at Roca for six months gave me a time for much needed spiritual growth, a time to reflect on everything
that God has been trying to tell me for years now, and a deep, meaningful insight on missions. My attitudes towards what is
"mine" and what I have "earned" are completely changed. I know that my time here was a blessing from God. I encourage
everyone to get involved!"
"While serving on a short-term medical mission team to Roca Blanca, God awakened me to the importance of always
being involved with missions. I decided to come back and serve in whatever way I could be used. I did many things
the 6 months I was at Roca; taught English, taught children's ministry, helped with marketing and fundraising,
worked in the clinic, and translated as needed. God used me in so many ways. My favorite part was traveling to
the villages and towns to see the churches. It's incredible to see an indigenous people group reached by the
gospel and seeing the effects it has on their lifestyle and families. It gave me such amazing peace and joy to
know that these churches are established and flourishing because of the work of Roca Blanca, and that in some
small way I can be a part of that.Beginning your Internship

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Matthew 28:19-20
